Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the ChinaSavvy app handles data.

How the app works

ChinaSavvy has no accounts or login. It has no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. The app's own code makes no network requests. The Android billing library sends diagnostics to Google, as explained below.

Data saved on your device

The app saves the following data locally:

The app does not send these saved values to the developer of ChinaSavvy. System backups and device transfers can copy them outside the device, as described below.

Four ways data can leave your device

1. Android billing diagnostics

Google Play Billing Library sends billing API success and failure information and service connection diagnostics to Google over HTTPS. It includes device and software details such as model, system version, country and language settings, carrier code, network type, and app build number. The library runs at app startup on Android devices with Google Play, so diagnostics can occur without a purchase. The app has no switch to turn these logs off. The developer does not receive these logs and cannot delete them from Google. Google determines how long it keeps these logs under its own policies. See the Google Privacy Policy.

2. In-app purchases

Apple and Google process in-app purchases through the App Store and Google Play. The app and the developer do not receive your payment method, card number, or payment account information. The app handles transaction results in memory and saves only the Full access unlocked flag, rather than a purchase receipt or transaction history.

3. Actions you choose

When you open an external link, dial a number, open a map search, or write an email, the app passes the built-in URL, number, map query, or contact email address to your browser or another app. These URLs do not include your saved passport context, address cards, or food cards. Browsers and third-party services handle data under their own policies.

Trip.com links for attractions, train tickets and eSIM plans, and the Saily eSIM link, are affiliate links. ChinaSavvy may earn a commission if you purchase through them. These built-in links contain static partner, offer, or campaign parameters. The app opens them unchanged outside the app, in your browser or, if it is installed, the provider's app; it does not generate tracking parameters from your saved passport context, address cards, or food cards, or add user or device identifiers.

After you choose to open a link, the browser or provider app and third-party providers or affiliate networks handle the network requests. They may process your IP address, device and browser information, cookies, and order attribution under their own privacy policies. ChinaSavvy does not process payments for these third-party purchases or receive your purchase history through the app. The developer may receive aggregate or conversion reports from affiliate platforms. This is separate from the app's own data handling and does not add an analytics or tracking SDK to the app.

When you tap Copy or a contact email row, the selected card text, built-in action text, or contact email address is placed on the system clipboard. The app does not read the clipboard. If you select text and choose an Android text-processing action, such as translation, the selected text is passed to the app you choose.

4. System backups and device transfers

Android Auto Backup is enabled. The app's saved preferences can be included in backups in your Google account and in device transfers. On iOS, saved preferences can be included in iCloud and device backups. The developer does not receive these backups.

Deleting data

Uninstall the app or clear its app data to delete the locally saved data. Manage system backups separately through your own Google or Apple account.

Children

ChinaSavvy is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
